I grew up in an era of genuine journalist like Walter Cronkite and Edward R. Murrow when the news reporting was ‘rip and read’ and biased commentary was labeled and limited to ‘official commentators’ like Alex Dryer and Len O’Connor. Then sometime in the mid 70’s it transformed into entertainment (Shelly Long in Chicago on NBC local news, “Sorting it out”) and by the mid 80’s the legacy news media had lost most of its objectivity. In the 90’s the once credible news reporting we all used to trust had degenerated into the hideous mess we know recognize as “Fake News”.
