Keep Pressing On!
Galatians 6:9
“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”
This verse is not teaching that the Christian should never get weary in life, for this would be a contradiction in the way God created us. It would also be a contradiction to the humanity side of our Lord.
In John 4:6 we read concerning Jesus,
“…Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour.”
Let the Word of God speak, we can get tired from the mental and physical effort we give as we serve God. But the text says,
“Let us not be weary in well doing…”
The work of God is a work that is “well doing”. It is good and worthy of the effort we put forth. One cannot keep themselves from getting wearied or tired, it is natural for the way God made us. One cannot keep themself from getting wearied and tired in mind and of what they are doing.
The warning is for us to “faint not”.
Do not give up in heart!
Why?
A day of reaping will come!
In God’s timing the harvest will come.
In God’s timing the reward will be sweet!
Are you feeling a little tired? Then hold on and keep pressing on in the work of the Lord! In due season, in God’s timing, you and I will reap!
