Living In Two Different WorldsPhilippians 1:23-24“For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better: Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you.”The older I get it seems to me like the pull from the other side, from the place which we call Heaven, gets stronger. For the Christian we walk by faith, so it is possible we can live here and there in Heaven at the same time. Our scripture text today teaches us to remain in the flesh, as long as God leaves us here, is more needful. But we can desire to depart and be with Christ which is far better than anything this world can ever offer up. It is a strange but very wonderful blessing to possess the reality of living in these two worlds at once. I am grateful to be alive and I am grateful to be given so many opportunities to serve my Lord. But I am equally grateful to know that when He is ready, I will depart this world for Heaven and “to be with Christ, which is far better”!How wonderful it is to be saved by the grace of God!Only the Christian can have the best of both of these two worlds!
