DON'T USE TRACTS?
"And John answered and said, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name; and we forbad him, because he followeth not with us. And Jesus said unto him, Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us." (Luke 9:49-50)
"Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will: The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds: But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel. What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice." (Plp. 1:15-18)
Look out for people who make it a habit to condemn the ministries of others. The Bible rule is that we should tolerate and even appreciate people with different ministries unless they are teaching outright heresy, in which case we are to admonish, mark and avoid them (Tit. 3:10; Rom. 16:17-18). Paul even stated that we are "not wise" when we compare ourselves with other believers (II Cor. 10:12).
Someone asked me about preachers who condemn tract distribution. I replied that most preachers who don't believe in tracts are blabbermouths who insist on BEING HEARD, even to a captive audience. They view tracts as competitors, so their solution is to eliminate tracts and have no competition. That's not what they SAY, of course, but that's the core issue with many preachers. There are mountains of evidence that tracts serve a great cause and that God has used them for hundreds of years. Every believer should appreciate this whether he personally uses tracts or not.
The same is true with street preaching, radio ministry, nursing home ministry, prison ministry, foreign missions, home missions, bus ministry, and any other ministry endeavor that is getting the gospel into the hands, ears and hearts of sinners. There are eight billion people in the world, and there are countless ways to reach them with the word and get seeds planted, and this usually has to happen for a while before a one-on-one witness can be fruitful. Anyone who doesn't understand this does not understand people and the long and arduous process of laboring in God's vineyard in order to get real, lasting results.
