"THE CONQUEROR OF OUR BURDENS" "Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:" (Proverbs 6:6) How often we find in the Scriptures lessons which God has given us to prove the value of little things. Yet we, as the crowning achievement and the greatest of His creation, can certainly learn from the smallest and seemingly the least of all His creatures. Years ago, I was reading a story about a biologist who told how he watched an Ant one day carrying a piece of straw which seemed to be a big burden to it. The Ant came to a crack in the ground which was too big for it to cross. It stood for a time, as though musing over the situation, then the Ant put the straw down across the crack and walked over on it.What a lesson for all of God's people. The burdens which weigh on each of us, sometimes for a day, sometimes a bit longer, and still for others a lifetime, can weigh heavily upon our souls and testimonies. The solution awaits if we will but stop and consider how we can turn those "burdens into bridges" and walk over any obstacle and proceed on to victory. Now folks, that truth is taught throughout the Scriptures involving how to live the victorious Christian life. Ponder again those words concerning the Ant here in Proverbs 6:6 and consider its ways and be wise. The Ant is its own conqueror of its burdens. But for you and me, any burden we attempt to carry all by ourselves can be a mighty heavy load to conqueror. Oh, but Paul tells us in Romans 8:37. "Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us." Friends, because of the Lord Jesus, we are not JUST conquerors, PRAISE GOD, "we are MORE than conquerors." And the reason "We are more" is because Jesus Christ is the only One we can cast our burdens and cares upon. Yes, He will do all the carrying because He cares for us. 1 Peter 5:7 reminds each of us "Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you."
