Peugeot VLV (1941-1945)
The Peugeot VLV was an electric micro car.
VLV stood for Voiture Légère de Ville (Light City Car).
Peugeot was the only major French automaker to explore electric propulsion at the time.
Powered by four 12-volt batteries under the hood, it had a claimed top speed of 36 km/h (22 mph) and a range of 80 km (50 miles).
The VLV was built during World War II to bypass fuel restrictions imposed on non-military users by the occupying German forces.
Production was banned after only 377 units were made.
