The 1947 Davis Divan was a futuristic three-wheeled convertible designed by Gary Davis, inspired by a custom 1941 roadster. Featuring a sleek aluminum body, a removable fiberglass hardtop, and a wide bench seat for four, it boasted a 63-hp Continental engine, disc brakes, and a claimed 100 mph top speed. Marketed as the “Car of the Future,” only 16 were built due to financial troubles and fraud allegations, halting production by 1949. Despite its failure, the Divan remains a collector’s gem for its bold design and aviation-inspired innovation.
