Accepting God’s Delayed Responses
John 11:3 “Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick.”
John 11:21“Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.”
John 11:32 “Then when Mary was come where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.”
John 11:43 “And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.”
When Jesus got word that his friend Lazarus was sick he waited before He left to go see him. During Christ’s delay Lazarus died.
Have you ever felt like God is not moving fast enough for you?
Have you ever felt as though God had forgotten about you?
What would have been better, for Jesus to heal Lazarus or raise him from the dead?
Which was the greater miracle? God’s delays are just a test of our faith. Do you believe?
Before Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead He reminded Mary “I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:” (John 11:25). Then to back up His words He raised Lazarus from the dead. His statement became a test of their faith.
Romans 10:17 “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
By faith we can trust God’s delays, because He is always right on time.
