He Who Forever Lives Also Makes Intercession For Us
Romans 8:34
“Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.”
Hebrews 7:25
“Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.”
Today with great JOY we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. He who was crucified and buried, victoriously arose again the third day! No other group, religious or secular, can with confidence lay claim that their founder both died for them and rose again. But that’s not all of the story. Jesus Christ ever lives and at this very moment He is making intercession for those who are His followers. The word intercession is interesting in its meaning. It means to consult with, to meet with, or to converse with. Because Jesus Christ ever lives He has secured the right to the presence of the Father, to converse and consult with Him about those of us who are His followers. Kind of puts your mind at a peaceful ease when you really think about it. And, as Paul Harvey used to say, “And now you know… the rest of story”.
