The Pains Of LifeRevelation 21:4“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”Pain can come in many forms and it can come from many sources. For example we experience the pains of physical sufferings, the pains of the troubles and trials of life, and there is the pain of the death of a loved one. I also note the fact that young age does not exempt one from pain, unfortunately children sometimes experience pain. For the Christian our verse secures the promise that one day “neither shall there be any more pain”.Somehow in Heaven God is going to fix it where all the painful experiences of life “are passed away”.What a day that will be!!But for now, why does God allow for His children to experience pain?There are many answers to this question; the increase and growth of our faith, that we may come to a total reliance upon Him, to allow us to experience Romans 8:28 that “all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose”, and to allow us the privilege of comforting others who are going through painful times with the same comfort God gave us (see 2 Corinthians 1:3, 4).There is no doubt that in our lifetime we can experience many different pains, but thanks be to God who uses the pain for our good and His glory! And thanks be to God who will one day remove the remembrance of all our pains while on earth!
