2 Timothy 2:25 - In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will GIVE THEM repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; INSTRUCTING: The r e l i g i o u s are the toughest to reach since they 'oppose themselves' with denial, defensiveness, and defiance to the word of God.Most, whether lost or saved, c o n f u s e repentance with regret, remorse or just admission of being guilty which differ from repentance. First, Repentance is a 'g i f t' that comes from God and not from within yourself. Upon hearing the Word of God, God himself will c o n v i c t the sinner of sin. Then it's up to the hearer to respond in a fashion that is a c c e p t a b l e to God which means confession and not just admission that you did something wrong.When a person confesses to sin, they w i l l n o t make excuses for their sin nor will they act sorry for just being caught in sin. There are many who a d m i t to sinfulness but n e v e r repent. There has been many who possess 'regret/remorse' but n e v e r repented since they n e v e r confessed that they were wrong.Second, repentance is a 'g o d l y' sorrow and not just shedding tears for remorseful reasons. Once you are convicted by God, you should desire to repair, forsake, change and then you should be eager to live differently instead of j u s t r e l i v i n g what caused your sin failures.=> Acts 26:20 - But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should REPENT a n d TURN to God, and do WORKS meet for repentance. When you repent, your direction c h a n g e s from your sin to God, and then WORKS, that are 'm e e t' for repentance, will appear in your life. Not 'works' for salvation b u t proof that you've 't u r n e d' to God by serving him and not serving yourself or this world.If your direction and WORKS 'N E V E R' change then you failed to T U R N to God (repentant) and now you are endanger to living a lie as you deceive yourself and defy others as you live in denial.The church is f u l l of non-repentant supposed believers who can sing hymns, and dress nicely, but they are no different than the religious Pharisees who Jesus called: “sepulchres of d e a d men's bones”
