We are indeed sinful, and we cannot save ourselves or deliver ourselves from our wickedness. We deserve death and punishment for our evil. So as Paul asked, “Who will deliver me from this body of death?” Here is the answer: Jesus Christ can deliver us from the body of death! Jesus can set us free from the bondage of sin that entangles us! And once he sets us free, we are free forever.
