"SAVED" TWICE?
Yesterday I posted a brief article on the all-too-common scenario that we've all seen, where a teen or young adult receives Christ after having THOUGHT they were saved years before. Their conviction is that they were not really saved the first time, only caught up in religious emotions or just going along with their young peers at the altar.
The opposing view is that they were really saved the first time, but just weren't properly discipled, so they engaged in sin and worldliness and lost their assurance.
No doubt, this does happen to some degree, probably because the kids were only taught "soul winning" and no doctrine or spiritual growth, but I believe most of them were never saved in the first place. After all, they were there the first time and they remember what happened. If a woman says that she went through the motions as a pre-teen, but was never really convicted of sin and never really born again, then I believe her, especially since I have seen empty believism first hand and know very well that it DOES happen on a large scale and that it is fake. It would be typical for the deluded empty-believe crowd to cover their tracks and claim that such people were really saved the first time. Maybe some were, but probably not most. After all, that would mean that a naive and impressionable young teenager has more spiritual discernment than an adult. Not likely in most cases. Whatever the case, as Doc used to say, "Better to be saved twice and go to heaven than be 'saved' once and go to hell."

Do you believe on him and his plan of Salvation. Or are you calling him a liar. The Bible says getting saved a sec... View More
