My paternal grandfather was born on this day in 1918 and passed away in 2004. He was a truck driver in Burma and India from 1944-46. He had malaria (affects around 200 million people a year). He has just PFC on his tombstone. My second cousin Wanda born in 1939 was intelligence analyst assigned to Cuba and worked on Bay of Pigs and Cuban Missile Crisis. Kennedy was able to negotiate withdrawal of missiles due to knowing defensive intentions from good intelligence. Wanda passed away in 2012.
