All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by his great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. --- 1 Peter 1:3 The term “born again” refers to spiritual birth (regeneration)---the Holy Spirit’s act of bringing believers into God’s family. Jesus used this concept of new birth when he explained salvation to Nicodemus (see John 3). This term is a wonderful metaphor of new life from God. You cannot be a Chrisian without a fresh beginning based on the salvation Christ brings. To be born again is a magnificent gift from God. --- Life Application Study Bible notes PRAYER Dear Lord, I praise You for Your mercy, grace and love that lavished on us beyond measure. Thank you for setting before us the living hope through the magnificent resurrection of Jesus. I believe in the inheritance kept for me in heaven where everything broken will become unbroken and every tear will be wiped away with no more death or mourning but only life and the perpetual new mornings of Your grace.
