2 Corinthians 3:14 (K J V) But their minds were b l i n d e d: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which [vail] is done away in Christ.
Vs 15 But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.
BLINDNESS/VAIL: When a person or people rejects truth, God will r e w a r d unbelief with B L I N D N E S S.
With Israel, as a people, a v a i l is upon their minds/heart not because God is cruel, but because they consistently refused God’s messengers in the Old Testament, the prophets and then the Apostles in the New Testament.
TODAY: If you continually reject God’s messengers, preacher/pastors, then God can give you over to your w i s h e s.
God is not willing that any should perish but if you r e j e c t his message and messengers, then God will abide by your choices.
God can r e m o v e the vail but that only happens through preaching of the Gospel: “which [vail] is done away in Christ”.
He will open your u n d e r s t a n d i n g but if you make it a habit to reject his truths, little by little, a vail from God will overshadow your heart not because God decided you can’t be saved but because you r e j e c t e d preaching of the gospel.
As we hasten to the return of Christ, there will be a great falling away yet people will think they completely understand God.
2 Thessalonians 2:3 (KJV) Let no man deceive you by any means: for [that day shall not come], EXCEPT there come a FALLING away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
