Refusal & Rebellion
Exodus 10:3
“And Moses and Aaron came in unto Pharaoh, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD God of the Hebrews, How long wilt thou refuse to humble thyself before me? let my people go, that they may serve me.”
Pharaoh in rebellion refused to humble himself before the LORD God. In time he felt the wrath of God for his arrogance toward God. Plague after plague came but he refused to humble himself before God. Pharaoh’s refusal to humble himself before God came at a high price, the plague of the death of all firstborns, which included the death of Pharaoh’s own firstborn son. But his son was not the only firstborn that died that dreadful night. In every house of the Egyptians Exodus 13:30 tells us “for there was not a house where there was not one dead”.
Pharaoh was not the only rebel in Egypt that night. Can you imagine?
The wailing cries of sorrow must have been great and heard all over Egypt that night. Perhaps this devotion is being read by one who is knowingly refusing God in rebellion.
What will that refusal and rebellion cost you?
