My dad told me that he learned from his dad, my grandfather, but only after thinking that he knew everything there was to know at my age and believing that his father was too old fashioned coming from the “Old Country” (Sicily) and the new world in America had passed him by. However, he was amazed at how much smarter his dad had become in the next few years that it took my dad to become an adult. That was in spite of his dad never having gone to school a day in his life.
