4/7/2019 - Crowfoot buttercup (genus Ranunculus) - This is just one of over 250 different species. Crowfoot has 5 super glossy, and bright, yellow petals, which I see I didn't capture very well with my camera. These tiny little flowers are only about 1/4 inch across and very showy around here throughout the spring. They may be just a weed, but I just looove havin' 'em around. All buttercups are toxic to livestock and humans and will blister the mouth if eaten fresh, but perfect for pollinators. They lose their toxicity when dried, so at least safe for cattle if harvested and dried with hay. But, hey...I don't own cattle, so I'm not going to worry about it.Hoo Hoo Acres, Southeast Texas
