3/3/2019 - Syraphid fly on fleabane - A very small, but not so insignificant, insect. They lay their eggs on aphid-infested plants. The hatching larvae consume the aphids...nature's natural checks and balances. Often mistaken for bees, but the Syraphid fly has only one pair of wings; whereas, bees have two pairs.
