1/11/2019 - The Orange Cafe, Orange, Texas(5-Stars Fabulous!)This is what you do when the government has a partial shutdown and you miss a first paycheck and discover a 2 year old gift certificate hiding out in your wallet where there used to be cash...(just kidding)...all bills are paid for the month. We'll be okay! I'm happy to say they still honored it!Ben ordered the Blue Cheese Burger on Sourdough with onion rings, and I ordered the Patti Melt on Rye with Smothered Onions and fries on the side. DELICIOUS!This building was originally part of the Orange Dairy Company established back in 1941. The inside still retains the original tile on the walls and floors, and is now covered with blownup-size period photos of the locals from back in the day. Beautiful photography!The Orange Cafe has made a comeback from two hurricanes: Ike in 2008 and Harvey in 2017. They have plaques posted just inside the door showing how high the water rose (photo enclosed).
