When I was young, I listened to the conventional advice for becoming a success, which is go to school, get good grades so you can get a good job. I earned three college degrees in business. I started by teaching at a business school, later I got into marketing and then management consulting. I was supposedly doing everything right, but I was miserable, I slowly became very aware that I am not a button-down collar, establishment kind of guy. I developed a very low tolerance for corporate incompetence, stupidity and dishonesty. Over the years it has become progressively worse. Things changed for me when I found professional Financial Services. As a former Regional Director of Recruiting I was often asked which university degree I look for in a good candidate to join our company. My answer is none! I would rather hire someone who has not been indoctrinated with the entitlement mentality and illogical politically correct socialistic fallacies. Or, better yet, I prefer someone who has gone through the educational ringer, learned how to recognize it as detrimental, understand and embrace the entrepreneurial spirit and act accordingly. We need honest people of good moral character who are willing to work harder than they have ever worked before, learn from successful leaders and apply our proven system and are also unwilling to compromise their ethics. Personally I have three university degrees in business, all of which have been rendered useless by the reality of corporate ignorance, incompetency, greed, cronyism, nepotism, deception and fraud. A college degree is not necessarily a reflection of intelligence, much less a good work ethic. All it really proves is that you can regurgitate the instructor’s propaganda and are just competent enough to carry out orders without question. We are looking for special candidates that are unconventional, anti-establishment critical thinkers principled enough to eagerly join our crusade against the corruption in most conventional corporate establishments. Common sense and wisdom does not come with a degree. One of our most successful multi-million dollar earners never finished high school. A college degree these days does nothing more than show a prospective employer that you have the perseverance and persistence to complete a full course curriculum and that you will obey authority. Most of the for-profit colleges are basically nothing more than diploma mill scams to get you to take out exorbitant un-dischargeable federal student loans to pay for outrageously overpriced tuition, books and fees. Then indoctrinate you with a lot of theoretical nonsense and liberal claptrap that has virtually no practical application in the real world.
