God FirstPsalms 5:1-3 - “Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my meditation. Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray. My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.”I have preached about putting God first in your life and many say that they do.Here we see David making a promise to God in a prayer song that he will give the LORD the first part of his day.Who gets the first part of your day?Who gets the best part of you?Putting God first in your life is more than going to church on Sunday morning. Part of putting God first is seeking God first every day. David shows that he had a place, an appointed time with God for meditation and prayer. Christians today have a greater advantage for this than David ever did. We have a complete Bible. We have been gifted with the inward presence of the Holy Ghost. What or who is to hinder us from spending time with God but our own self?In this day of businesses working 24 hours a day, one may work a shift that would be difficult to spend time with God in the morning.Whatever time you start your day, who gets the first part of it?Who gets the best part of it?Who is really first in your life?Seems like if one sets out to put God first in everything then God will get the first part of their day.
