How Far Away Is Heaven?Luke 23:43“And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.”Heaven may seem like light years away but for this man hanging next to Jesus on his own cross, who placed faith in the only begotten Son of God, it was only a breath away.Think about the word “today” in our text verse. This man did not have to wait. When this man breathed his last breath on earth, his next one was taken in Heaven. This man did have to go through death to get to heaven, but it is very well possible that some reading this devotion will not see death but be a part of the crowd of saints who will be alive and remaining when Christ comes in the rapture.1 Thessalonians 4:16-17“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”Amen!!1 Corinthians 15:52 speaks of the distance between where we are to over there in heaven as a “twinkling of an eye”. Whether it be by death or when the trumpet sounds, Heaven is not that far away!Kinda of makes you want to shout Hallelujah!!
