"EVERY DAY IS A GOOD DAY TO REJOICE" "This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it." (Psalm 118:24)Rejoicing is that missing element in the life of so many Christians these days. The Bible teaches us that we are commanded to rejoice.I can almost imagine Paul thinking, "There will be some people who will read this verse one day, so the Holy Spirit will no doubt inspire me to write about rejoicing twice because once won't be enough for some folks." And so, Paul did just that saying: "Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice." (Philippians 4:4) Yet we walk about this land that belongs to our Heavenly Father as the most downcast people and live a life of disobedience. You know, I've always believed that God intended His people to be the most joyful people on the face of the Earth. Yet, you'd never know it when you see some of them. I want to run in the opposite direction when I see someone like that heading my way, because whatever they've got, I don't want to catch it and wind up being miserable like them. Now folks, I'm sure that you've seen them too. They have that long face with their lower lip dragging about an inch off the ground and look like Maude the Mule that's been eating of the oak bucket their entire life. The problem is they've been looking down so long that they have forgotten how to look up. Surely God cannot be pleased with such an attitude like that which many of His children too often display.Let's begin today to go about our daily chores and lift ourselves out of that weary ole rut that we've dug for ourselves by gathering that Heavenly Manna, which God has inspired, and sent from above, and know that He is giving us this day our daily bread. Like someone once said, "God promised to feed the birds of the air; but He didn't promise to throw the food in to the nest." Let's do our part and gather the Food from His Word which He has provided for our spiritual nourishment.Friends, when we realize that God is working in us and for us today, we will faithfully look forward with great anticipation to receive all that He has for us tomorrow. Now, isn't that exciting? Surely that is indeed something to rejoice about, not only for today, but forevermore as well.
