THE ANTI-ROMANS ROAD NUT CASES
Beware of these anti-Romans Road people who seem to live only for the purpose of trying to strain gnats and confuse people about salvation. One way this is done is to claim that Romans 10:9-13 is for Jews only and that no gentile can be saved by calling upon the Lord. This claim is made because Romans 10 starts with the words "Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved" and then the next several verses emphasize the need for Jews to realize that the law cannot save them and that only Jesus Christ can.
This is a classic case of people who focus so much on the trees that they can't see the forest. In Romans 10, the forest is found in verses 12-13: "For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
There is NO DIFFERENCE! So, Romans 10 is for EVERYONE, not just Israel, and anyone who says otherwise is just trying to cause trouble. The calling upon the Lord includes BELIEVING on Christ after HEARING about Him (vs. 14). Nothing in the chapter is complicated until the "rightly dividers" show up and butcher the whole thing beyond recognition, which actually makes them WRONG dividers, a blatant violation of II Timothy 2:15, the very verse on which they hang their proud hats! Stay away from these idiots, else you'll be as confused as they are.
If someone is ABUSING the Romans Road verses, then that's a separate issue altogether, but to say that these verses are for Jews only (in a letter to the ROMANS!) is just plain crazy, and if you don't avoid crazy people, you'll probably end up crazy yourself.
