During Aerial Refuelling (AAR), fuel is offloaded from the aircraft’s standard wing and fuselage tanks, allowing up to 291 personnel to be accommodated in the cabin and providing space for freight in the hold. As a tanker, the Voyager can perform a ‘towline’ operation, where it orbits a designated area waiting for ‘receivers,’ or it can fly in a ‘trail’ formation, refuelling multiple fast jets over long distances while managing the formation’s fuel and navigation.Alternatively, the Voyager can function as a passenger aircraft, similar to a commercial airliner, but with the added capability of delivering personnel safely into operational theatres thanks to its advanced defensive systems. Additionally, Voyager provides significant capacity for transporting palletized or bulk freight in its lower fuselage hold. The aircraft is also highly versatile, with an aeromedical configuration that can carry up to 40 stretchers and three critical care patients, as well as a modest VIP passenger setup. M
