The Early Christians Got It!In John 14:6 we read where Jesus said,“I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”Jesus was stating to His disciples and to us that He is the only way to Heaven, He is the truth in which to know, and He is the life in which to live. We read in Colossians 3:4 where the Apostle Paul wrote, “When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.”Note the phrase in this verse about Christ, “who is our life”.Jesus said, “I am… the life” and Paul said, “Christ, who is our life”.Can you say “Christ is your life”?In Galatians 2:20 Paul stated, “Christ liveth in me” and in Philippians 1:21 he said, “For me to live is Christ”. I have said and preached that one’s Christianity should be more than just a mere choice, it should be one’s way of life. The early church, led by the Apostle Paul got it! They understood that the Christ who lived in them, was the Christ who lived through them, and the Christ who they lived before others. Often they were persecuted and fled for other regions but wherever they went “they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ” (Acts 2).Is your Christianity something you can cut on and off as you wish, OR is it your way of life?Is your Christianity the truth you carry that no matter where life leads you are conscious and aware of “Christ in you” (Colossians 1:27)?
