2 Peter 2:13 - And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their O W N deceivings while they feast with you;
DECEIVINGS: Not only can you d e c e i v e others, but you can deceive 'yourself' which is worst.
You might not see that you are a n 'a n g r y person, but others will see it.
You might not see that you are a 'b i t t e r' person, but others will see it.
You might not see that you are a 's e l f i s h' person, but others will see it.
You might not see that you are a 'm e a n' person, but others will see it.
I could list more but by now, all can understand what is seen by others is not always seen by the person who rejects truth for lies.
There comes a point in time when d e c e p t i o n becomes a 'way of life' for some who have convinced themselves that their lies and deceits are not harmful to others.
They will even 'think' that they can be 'right' with God while lying and b e i n g deceitful, which is nothing but self-deception and this proves that they can't see themselves as others see them.
Now, if you 'think' you are right/saved/Christian but your whole life has been based on one lie after another, or portraying yourself as something wholesome or clean while living another lifestyle, then you are no different then Bible characters like Cain, who betrayed his brother, or Judas who betrayed Jesus.
Both were openly 'r e l i g i o u s' and no one would have thought they could have killed but both were secret haters of truth and righteousness to the point it didn't trouble them to kill or to betray.
Self-Deception is a horrendous result of prior sins that have been allowed to stew within a person's heart until that person no longer sees themselves for what they are or have become.
