Well I did Work for General McFadden and General DOZER, before he was kidnapped by the Italian Red Brigades, When a shit load of Brass and the NCO's were in the Captain's I saw old WWII radio on the Company commander's desk. I knocked on the door and my platoon Sgt was try to brush me off. He finally came out because I usually don't ignore orders. REALLY ANNOYED he asked me what the hell am I doing. I told him that I have the ARMY manual for that exact WWII radio. The Red Brigades were using the radio and CB radio. So we had 2 huey' with a CB tracker and a radio operator in each one looking for anything Red Brigades related. We found the largest weapons cache, 7 Klicks up the valley of the Aviano Airforce runways north end of the runway there is a little farm house. 12 each 12.7 heavy machine guns tripod mounted. 374 AK-47's and a whole bunch of shit. It was on the front page of the stars and stripes. I had a copy of the Stars and Stripes in my Duffel bag. I had my shit with my 1969 firebird and my 1974 260zx. The fire was in 2010 I think. I had gotten the radio manual on. A Italian ARMY mountain top castle fortress that has been own by the Italian ARMY since the 1500's there was WW II shit all over the fortress and a big metal rusting building in the middle of the open area of the fortress. In that rusty building was all sorts of radio gear handsets some manuals Morse code keys As a RADIO/TELETYPE OPERATOR with IMC, I had a stiffy for sure. We Were doing crazy things with the radio teletype rig. We were involved with remotely operating the rig from Germany. The Special Forces Col. Gave us a history lesson that at this point HAD to be the Communication center for General Pattons ARMY. Where never told except at West Point That General George Patton's 3rd ARMY made a full ARMY retreat and this is the spot where his communication headquarters was at.
