The Message1 John 1:5-6“This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:”The message which we have heard.Have you heard it?Have you believed it?Have you trusted it to take you out of the darkness of this world?I first heard the message most likely as a baby. Growing up in a Christian home has such privileges. I first became aware of the message as a young boy, about the age of 10. That message for me was that Jesus Christ had came into the world, died upon the cross, shedding His blood for the sin of mankind, dying and being buried, but rising again the third day. Thank God for conviction through the Holy Spirit! Yes, it is the message “that God is light and in him is no darkness at all”.It is the message that the only way to escape the darkness of this world is to come to the Light- Jesus Christ.1 John 1:7“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.”As a young boy, I trusted the message of Jesus Christ and was born again.Now, though the world lies in darkness, I do not have to walk in that darkness. There is Light for me, there is fellowship with others who have also trusted the message of the Light.1 John 2:8“Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth.”For me it all started when I heard and believed and trusted the message!
