The Evil DayIn Ephesians 5:15 & 16 the Holy Spirit gives us warning to be wise in our walk with God and redeem the time because the days are evil. No one has to convince me that the days before us are evil days. We ought to be wise in our walk with God and redeem our time, to make the most of our time, to stay close to God, to be daily in His Word, and serve Him with sincerity of heart. Why? Because the days we live in are evil.In chapter 6 the Holy Spirit speaks not of evil days, but “the evil day”.Ephesians 6:13“Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”Could there be a day, marked on the calendar of Satan in which he will target you or me? This was true for Job’s life (Job 1:6-12).For the Christian, or anyone, to think that they are exempt from facing evil days, or a designated and designed evil day is not being wise. To think there is no such thing as sin or evil is foolish. We are told to be wise, to redeem the time, and to take unto ourselves “the whole armour of God”. Sobering truth and sobering advice, but I wonder how serious minded we take any of it?
