DeceivedThe word "deceived" is defined in Webster’s 1828 Dictionary as "mislead; led into error; beguiled; cheated; deluded. The Bible lets us know that satan is the master when it comes to deceiving people." Genesis 3:1 “Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?” Satan being “more subtil than any beast of the field” deceived Eve. 1 Timothy 2:14 “And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.” Eve sinned through being deceived; and when Eve gave the fruit unto Adam, he sinned by choice. The entire human race inherited the nature to sin through Adam. Romans 5:12 “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:” This all started by one being deceived. Are you being deceived by satan? 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.” Being deceived can and is leading many to Hell. 2 Timothy 3:13“But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.” The only way to escape being deceived by satan and his workers is through knowing the truth that comes through Jesus Christ. John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 8:32, 36 “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free… If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”
