"THE TESTIMONY OF A CHANGED LIFE"
"And he answered and said, Whether he be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see." (John 9:25)
When I was at work years ago, I posted a wonderful report where I had led a man to Christ at McDonalds. I remember how that poor soul reeked with alcohol and looked like 40 miles of bad road that morning.
No sooner had I posted that blessing later that evening, some fella commented with a question, "How do you know he really meant it?" I knew where this guy was headin', so I answered back, "Well, how do we know that on that day you supposedly got saved, you really meant it?" It wasn't long after that same guy unfriended me. Screwballs come in all ages, shapes, and sizes, don't they?
About a year or so later, that same guy, I had led to Christ, called me on my cell phone while I was working (I had given him my number earlier) to tell me how his life had been changed after he was saved.
As I thought about that blessed conversation l had with that new convert that day on the phone, I remembered this account written for us in John 9.
Without going into the various happenings that led up to this man's miracle of receiving, not only physical sight but spiritual sight to boot, we find here in this chapter where those ole Pharisees were up to their dirty tricks again. This time, they, along with some other Jews, were ready to throw this man along with his Mom and Dad out of the synagogue, bag and baggage, if they so much as confessed Christ.
Now, to be sure, this fellow was born blind, but he wasn't born stupid! He knew he was up against it no matter how he answered their questions. Don't you just love his response? In so many words he said to that sightless bunch of phonies, "Look here, I don't know much about Him yet, and I don't really care to know anything about you. But there's one thing I'm sure of, Whereas I was blind, now I see." What a tremendous testimony!
You know, this old world will argue doctrine with you till the cows come home. They'll debate your beliefs till they're blue in the face. But there's one thing they can't deny....and that's the TESTIMONY OF A CHANGED LIFE.
Yes friends, there's none so blind as those who will not see. What Jesus Christ did one day when He made all things new for me, He can do for you and others we meet.
