12/26/2017: CHARLES DURAND OAK AND PINE ALLEY SUGARCANE FIELDS, St. Martinville, Louisiana - These were taken during one of our excursions into my ancestors homeland this past summer in August. And dang...I'm here to tell ya, these farmers mean business! If you are on a narrow dirt road and you see one of these machines coming at you at a 100 miles an hour, or so it seems, you better move your ass out of their way. We started down this road but had to turn back. There's not enough room for the both of you. We didn't make it to the end at this time of year, so that means another trip back to St. Martinville this spring. I wanna see the end of this dirt road, which might just only lead to another field, who knows!
