11/27/2017 - Black Star Chickens (a.k.a. Black Sex Links) - They're still young, only 8 weeks old now. We ordered our first batch on September 20, which were all mutilated when they were just babies, all except for 4 of them, probably by a wild kitty-cat or a coon. It left us a big ol' turd in the coop. So we ordered another batch October 3. They should start to lay eggs right around 5 months, in March.Out of the 4 that survived the night of terror, one of them lost an eye. I named her Jackie, you know, as in "one-eyed Jack". She is one beautiful bird and will probably end up my friendliest and favored one. The first photo, the black and white, is one of three roosters.
