What’s Following You In Life?Psalms 23:6“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.”Proverbs 13:21“Evil pursueth sinners: but to the righteous good shall be repayed.”The word “follow” in Psalm 23:6 and the word “pursueth” in Proverbs 13:21 mean exactly the same thing. Actually, the original Hebrew word is the same for both words. These verses remind us that no matter who we are and what we are and how we are living, something follows us. And that which follows us will catch up with us at the end of our life.Psalm 23:6 gives the promise to the ones who have made the LORD the Shepherd of their life, “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow” us all the way to when we “dwell in the house of the LORD forever”. This means that even in the hard times of life, the goodness and mercy of God are with us.Proverbs 13:21 reminds us that for the sinner (unsaved person), evil or bad, unhappy, sad, distress, misery, and suchlike follows. The truth taught in Galatians 6:7-8 will come to pass in every life, “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.”🛑Stop, look behind you and see what is following you. You may find out that you need the LORD as your Shepherd.
