SEARCH AND KNOWJohn 5:38-40 - “And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not. Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.”It is possible to search the Scriptures and not know the Christ that is presented in them. It takes faith to believe what you are reading in the Bible. The eternal life in heaven that is presented in the Scriptures (Bible) is not found in a philosophy but in a Person and that Person is Jesus Christ. Scriptures clearly teach that to know God and have eternal life, it comes through faith in Jesus Christ. John 14:6 - “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 17:3 - “And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.” John 20:31 - “But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.” The Christian life is more than just knowing about Christ. It is more than a person setting out to be like Christ. It is the truth that by faith, Christ becomes our very life. As Paul stated in Galatian 2:20, “but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me”. Yes; search the Scriptures! They testify of Christ! Search them that you might know Him by faith - the Lord Jesus Christ!
