Therefore many of them believed; also of honourable women which were Greeks, and of men, not a few.”There is such a person, who very much knows the Bible but falls short of knowing the God of the Bible. The Door of eternal life in Heaven is Jesus Christ (John 10:7-9). One cannot pretend to know the Bible, know about God, but deny Jesus Christ. When I hear of one who has set out on a journey to search the Scriptures I rejoice, but I also pray that in that journey they find their faith resting in the Lord Jesus Christ as their Saviour. In Jesus’s day there were those who searched the Scriptures, thinking and believing they had eternal life. But they would not come to Jesus. They missed something in their search. And in Acts 17 it seems that those from Berea who also had searched the Scriptures, and heard Paul preach, found confirmation in their faith that what Paul was saying was true.The truth of the Scriptures should confirm our faith in Jesus Christ as our Saviour and establish our doctrine in the church as New Testament believers and followers of Christ.When you search the Scriptures who or what are you looking for?
