2. And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry.
3. And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord God, thou knowest.
4. Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD.
5. Thus saith the Lord God unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live:
Ezekiel 37:2-5
Ezekiel, a priest and prophet of the most High God. Being shown a valley full of dry bones. He knows what a curse it is for a body to have no burial.
God asks can these bones live? He says only you know. For the bones being very dry what hope has man that they can live again.
God tells Ezekiel, say to them, hear the word of the Lord. The Lord says breath shall enter you and you will live. This was written around 600 years before Christ's birth. And you can see the Gospel message in it. We are dead in sin. We have no hope we are under judgment for sin.
But God say through Christ the Lord, I will cause breath to enter into you and you shall live. This is the born-again experience. The breath that enters into us is the Holy Ghost.
This is not a new created being but a regeneration of a dead man back to life. It is God's word, He can not lie.
It is impossible to have life from death, but Christ has shown that as He died for sin and rose from death, we to have that promise. When we trust Christ. No longer dry bones, but living children of God. Amen.
