"FULLY PERSUADED, FAITHULLY PROMISED, FLAWLESSLY PERFORMED""He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;And being fully persuaded that, what He had promised, He was able also to perform." (Romans 4:20-21)Did you notice those three words in verse 21: PERSUADED, PROMISED, and PERFORM? The Holy Spirit certainly knows how to write a great outline, doesn't He? Are we fully persuaded that our Lord is more than able to perform in our lives all that He has promised? Well, Abraham was, and the Bible calls Abraham the friend of God. and that's exactly what our unchangeable God of the Ages desires for you and me.How wonderful to walk hand in hand each moment everyday with this Faithful Friend of ours as we go about our daily chores. We too can be fully persuaded that He is performing all He promised in our lives. Oh, how sweet is that spirit of expectancy when we trust all that God guarantees us!Most Christians have heard of Adoniram Judson. Mr. Judson was that great missionary to Burma. For almost 40 years of service there, he labored long in prayers, fasting, and witnessing. But rather than seeing countless souls come to Christ for salvation at the beginning, Adoniram Judson was arrested. He was tortured and thrown into a nasty, filthy, rat-infested prison. But he didn't quit, he continued on with his work there.Years later, when he was home on furlough, he was asked if the prospects were bright for the conversion in that part of the world. His famous reply was, "As bright, Sirs, as the promises of God!" You see, Adoniram Judson was fully persuaded that what God had promised, He was able also to perform!Like Abraham, Mr. Judson didn't stagger about in unbelief. Not at all. His own testimony was like that of verse 20, "....strong in faith, giving glory to God." Are we fully persuaded that our God will perform all that He promises us? If so, then why not begin today and say, “My future is as bright as the promises of God.”By the way, when Judson began his mission in Burma, he set a goal of translating the Bible and founding a church of 100 members before his death. When he died in 1850, he left behind in Burma that translated Bible, 100 churches, and over 8,000 believers.Friends, let's be persuaded that God will perform everything He promises us.
