The author teaches contentment over covetousness. This word is defined in Greek means extreme greed for wealth or material gain. Being the opposite of contentment. Today's culture calls it ambition. In short, if this is your goal, it will never be satisfied, Proverb 27:20.
Only Christ can give everything you need. To pursue the things of this world leads to destruction. Christ leads to peace and life eternal.
Christ has promised every believer that He will always be with them. And He can not lie.
So we are content when we trust Christ for supplying every need, the Lord is my helper.
With godly rulers, you need godly followers. Leaders demonstrate a faith that can be followed.
The unchangeable nature of Jesus does not alter over time. There is no looking for something new. The same Jesus revealed in the Bible is the same Jesus, being preached in a true church of Christ this day. Amen.
