Ps. 102:2 “Do not hide Your face from me in the day of trouble; incline Your ear to me; in the day of trouble. In the day that I call answer thee speedily” The heart-cry of every child of God is this. We don’t always get it. We don’t always get a speedy answer to our prayers and an explanation for why things happen the way they do. We often feel God is remote and distant from us. Yet, we must know that God’s face is always toward His children and never turned against us.When we look for the face of God instead of the hand of God, we see Him for who He really is. We see understanding, HIs glory, and ourselves in light of who He is. So, this is not a prayer to get me out of a jam. Instead, it is one of constant reliance and trust that God does everything right, whatever happens. May the prayer of the Psalmist be ours also, and may God’s watch, care, and protection be ever before us.--- Dan Nelson
