People say, "I am who and what I am. I am what God made me. I can't change how I feel, what I like, who I love."WRONG!You can change your desires, likes, dislikes, choices, even your personality to a certain degree. It ALL STARTS with surrendering your entire LIFE as it is now, to God. Asking his forgiveness for all your bad choices, desires, actions.(Repentance)Accept that you are in need of a Savior, Jesus Christ! He is the only one that can make the change on the inside of you (your spirit). Then as you grow in God's grace and obedience, you will see the outside changing to reflect closer to what God shows us in the scriptures (Bible) is a pleasing life to God.You will also reap the benefits of a "Life in the spirit" rather than a life after the flesh (sin and destruction).Good word from Pastor Allen Jackson .Turn, Run, Pursue!1 Timothy 6:11 (NLT®)Run from all these evil things. Pursue righteousness and a godly life, along with faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness.We’re being honest when we acknowledge an ungodly choice often promises more fun than the godly choice. If that were not true, if sin did not offer some kind of pleasure, we wouldn’t be tempted by it. Well, that applies to more than just things like dabbling in sexual promiscuity, eating until it becomes gluttony, and listening to inappropriate music. It also pertains to the emotional gratifications of pride and unforgiveness. When we run from evil things and invest ourselves instead in the things of God, we will begin to discipline ourselves to live by His principles. We will learn to say no to our carnal nature and make godly choices that better reflect the character of Jesus. When we pursue righteousness and allow God’s perspective and purposes to be at the center of our thinking, they will begin to push the unrighteous things aside until our greatest desire will be to please God instead of ourselves.THINK ABOUT ITGod will give you invitations and even convict you, but you will have to choose to pursue God.
