Things To Do Today ✔️Matthew 6:33“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”Do you ever work from and/or start your day with a “Things To Do” list?Do you as soon as your feet hit the floor start the list, checking them off one by one?Sometimes when I have much to do the next day or the coming week and because I am afraid I will forget something 🙄, I make myself a “Things To Do” list the night before.I admit that I do not work well with such a list. The way I am geared, such a list has the potential to get me into trouble. I feel if I don’t get it all done I can get anxious about my list.In His sermon on the mount, Jesus warned us about being anxious about the things of life. The help Jesus gave us about being anxious about the things of life was this -“Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness…” Let us note the word “first”.I think we know what Jesus is saying in the rest of this verse, but what does the word “first” mean? What does “seek ye first” mean? The word “first” lets us know there is something that is more important today than anything else you and I will do. The word “first” can also mean the best. The best thing I can do today is “seek” and I believe for me personally the “best” part of my day is the first part of my day, which is the morning part of my day. This word “first” says to me that God has an order about things for my life, and in my life I need to make sure His kingdom and His righteousness is always first. All of the other things I need to do today is secondary to God. Of all the things that must be done today I need to seek God first. Now I am looking at my list of “Things To Do”. Seven things are listed on that list today. If I do not get them all done today, no worries, because tomorrow God will see to it that the sun will rise as always. And when it does, I will get up and “seek… first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness”. And if in my life I do not see the sun rise on earth tomorrow, that means I am somewhere far better, which is Heaven!! And for sure I will not worry about a list there!
