"GOD WILL RIGHTLY LEAD US ALL THE WAY HOME" "And he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation." (Psalm 107:7)This 107th Psalm has always been one of my favorites. It is a song that every child of the King can sing with certainty. Each of us have experienced our own bouts of sadness, suffering, and sorrow. Ah, but comfort awaits when we cuddle up and lovingly embrace those grand truths found in this portion of God's Holy Word.Notice several great truths found in this Psalm:In the very first verse of this Psalm, we find our Lord is One of everlasting MERCY, "...for his mercy endureth forever." Have we paused today to give thanks to Him like the Psalmist did for His unending mercy? You know, I've been around for several years. and I can't help but notice that people who have experienced His enduring mercy, are not only thankful people, but happy people as well. The second verse tells us He is the Lord of the MIRACULOUS reminding us of what He has accomplished for us and in us. The verse declares, "Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;" Have we recently or even once uttered one word from the housetops concerning the message that Jesus came to seek and to save? Oh, may the redeemed of the Lord say so wherever they may go! I don't know what you think, but I've always believed that folks who have a "KNOW SO SALVATION" should also be folks who have a "SAY SO SALVATION."Now verse 3 shows us that He is the Lord Who is ever MINDFUL of His own. A quick look at that verse teaches that He is able to "gather" all that are His from every land and from every direction. None are foreign, forsaken, or forgotten by Him. On the Cross, with His out-stretched arms, the Lord Jesus was gathering any and all who would look to Him and live. Have you been gathered by grace? Then, in verses 4 and 5, we find that our God is the Lord of MEANS. Praise His name; for even in the midst of our wanderings, our waning's, and our weaknesses, for He and He alone has the means to meet our needs. When we hunger and thirst and are ready to faint, ours is but to come and "cry out" to Him for our daily supply. And finally, when we do "cry out", we find in verse 6 that He is indeed the Lord of MIGHT Who is able to deliver. Do we not see our miserable account contrasted with His Mighty ability in that verse? "Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses." When we cry out in our distress, behold, He is there to deliver us from that desert of dearth! Are you distressed right now? Did someone look at you rather cross-eyed or called you a cruel word the other day and you are ready call it quits and throw in the towel? Have you lost your sense of direction for whatever challenge might be waiting around the next corner? I trust you're not going to lay down and accept defeat. As a child of God, you're better than thinking about such nonsense! Remember this: the Holy Spirit had you and me in mind when He inspired Paul to write, "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." (Philippians 4:13) Don't be one of those that say I CAN'T due to Satan's suggestions, rather, be one that says I CAN because of your Saviour's strength!Friends, our Great God of Guidance always knows which way is right and will never lead us along a way that is wrong! Therefore, we need to constantly cling to verse 7, which I posted at the very beginning, and cherish His promised words, "And he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation."
