"THE WONDERFUL WALK OF THE LORD JESUS"
"Again the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples;
And looking upon Jesus AS HE WALKED, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!" (John 1:35-36) (caps mine)
Those words, "AS HE WALKED", should literally leap from the pages of Scripture and find a resting place in our often-weary souls as we, His children, travel that daily path of pleasing God in all that we do and in that which we say.
Mark well in your Bibles the obedient steps of our Saviour:
Behold that narrow lane of righteousness our Lord chose. Look upon that winning walk of Him Who is called Wonderful. Do we not come away hopeful from such a study as we read about the journeys of the One Who was in all points tempted as we are?
Note that cry of victory in every stride the Lord Jesus took in overcoming the taunts of the wicked one thereby bringing glory and honor to God.
Hear Peter, as he remembers the Father's Words from Heaven one day concerning this One Whose walk and talk is even this very day meant to empower our own way and words, "For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." (2 Peter 1:17)
Is that not the CALLING for each of us? I believe so, and I believe that's exactly what the Holy Spirit meant when He inspired Peter to write, "For even hereunto were YE CALLED: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:" (1 Peter 2:21) (caps mine again)
Friends, oh that we too, who have accepted His plea to abide in Him, would walk in such a way that will please God every day.
