Should Christians Celebrate a Pagan Holiday That Makes the Occult ‘Fun’?
Every year I’m asked whether Christians should be involved in Halloween.
First, let me say, no one objects to children having a good time.
Yet fun is not the issue here.
All responsible parents prevent children from engaging in physically dangerous activities, whether they seem to be fun or not.
Just as, and ultimately more importantly, children should not be involved in things that are spiritually dangerous, even if they appear harmless.
Over the next two weeks, many will be preparing for a pagan celebration, ‘Halloween.’
Every Christian should object to children being groomed, indoctrinated, into the spiritual abuse and dangers of the occult.
God gives clear and strong warnings against the occult in His Word, the Bible:
Deuteronomy 18:9-12:
“When you come into the land that the LORD your God is giving you, you shall not learn to follow the abominable practices of those nations. There shall not be found among you anyone who burns his son or his daughter as an offering, anyone who practices divination or tells fortunes or interprets omens, or a sorcerer or a charmer or a medium or a necromancer or one who inquires of the dead, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the LORD. And because of these abominations the LORD your God is driving them out before you.”
Christians should also take a look at Leviticus 19:31 & 20:6; and Acts 19:19. There are numerous other such verses.
Reformation Day, the Eve of All Saints, is October 31st.
Many Lutheran Churches and parents have started “Reformation Day” parties for children that celebrate Martin Luther’s posting of his Ninety-Five Theses on a Church door this day in 1517, an event that changed religious and world history.
The Theses outlined abuses and errors in the catholic church.
Luther’s action symbolized the beginning of the reform of the Christian Church, and it’s return to the Bible.
Children are entrusted to our physical and spiritual care.
We can teach them the ways of a fallen world, or the Word of God.
I’ve included a link to a video that explains the pagan origins of Halloween: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rtR8x0arrnM
I encourage you to watch this informative video, and reconsider how you’ll celebrate Reformation Day.
God’s blessings,

yes. For the fun of trick or treating for the kids and dressing up with cool costumes. I appreciate the fun of Halloween. None of the demonic, or those who take it too far, crap!
