The Object Of Our FaithMatthew 9:27-29 - “And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, Thou Son of David, have mercy on us. And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord. Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.”On the back side of the misery of all the sin and brokenness in this world is unbelief in Christ. All people have some sort of faith. They believe in something or someone. Some people believe in nothing or no one but themselves. Even the atheist has a belief system. The same for the modern day agnostic. The world we live in is ever changing, and most of this change is not for the good. Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is the only faith that helps one to overcome this world.1 John 5:4-5 - “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?”Notice in our text in Matthew that our Lord asked these two that were blind, “Believe ye that I am able to do this?”The “ye” is singular. Each of them had to exercise individual faith in the Lord Jesus Christ to give them sight. There is no such thing as the faith of one covering all in a group. Be it a church family or just a household family, each individual has to personally believe in Christ.When did your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ become real to you personally?
