"THE LORD IS PLEASED WITH THAT WHICH IS HIS"
"Whatsoever the LORD pleased, that did he in heaven, and in earth, in the seas, and all deep places." (Psalm 135:6)
I was reading that at the Pacific Ocean’s deepest point you could submerge Mt. Everest and still have two miles of water between its peak and the surface of the water. I also read that the energy in one powerful hurricane is equal to about 500,000 bombs dropped from an airplane and that there are over 13,000 varieties of dirt in United States alone.
Folks, when we pause to consider the vastness, the power, and the diversity of creation in that verse I posted above, it should cause us to marvel over the wonder of our LORD, the Grand Maker and Maintainer of all things.
God does whatever He wishes in the waters where humans have never even been. He steers and has His Hand on the throttle of every tornado, cyclone, and hurricane as its Perfect Pilot. The complexity found in the smallest bit of sand reflects the enormity and creativity of His mind.
Among all of the stars in the sky, in the design of each grain of sand on the earth, and in each drop of water in every vast ocean, in every deep sea, in every flowing river, in every beautiful lake, in every fishing pond, and in every shallow creek around the world, God is controlling and doing that which is pleasing to Himself.
God rules over the bodies He formed above us and over the forces He controls around us. And lest we forget, His rule was not only in the creation of His universe, but even at this very moment, He still holds sway in the control of it.
We read where the Psalmist continues in the very next verse, “He causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings for the rain; he bringeth the wind out of his treasuries."(v.7) I would point out that those words causeth, maketh, and bringeth are in the present tense as He CONTINUES in doing so.
Now, we have two Presidential candidates today running hither and yon boasting about what they've done, and about what they're going to do. Well folks, I'd rather lift up who God was, is, and always will be, and what He's done and what He will CONTINUE to do.
When we muse over the fact that every part of God’s creation is obedient to the pleasure of its Creator, a question arises. Are we obedient to the great Creator of our Conversion to do in us that which brings Him good pleasure? (In the colored verse I posted below, the word WORKETH is also in the present tense which means it's CONTINOUS as well.
Yes friends, He's still CONTINUING on His work within all of us who belong to Him and we can rest assured, He takes pleasure in doing so.
